Beoport was never really supported for the Mac by B&O, but it was done by an Anders, an external person.

There has been a time where B&O endorsed the tool officially and link from their website. But it look like Anders is not updating the tool any longer.

B&O should ask for the sources and hire a mac programmer.

I can program for Mac, if I could get the sources, maybe I could have a look.

Would be nice if B&O fixed the itunes problem first so beoport and the beo 4 remote would work with a MAC !!!!!!!!!

I did analyse the code from the remote and did not think it was that complex.

When you press a key, it sends a code for that key, and if you keep it pressed, it sends a "repeat" code, until you release the key.

What is specific is that the repeat code is the same whatever the initial key.

For example, if you press UP long time, it will send:

UP, REPEAT, REPEAT, REPEAT ....

If you press MENU long time, it would send

MENU, REPEAT, REPEAT, REPEAT....

Other remote usually have a repeat code that is specific for each key, for example the Beo 4, if you press GO long time would send :

GO, GO-REPEAT, GO-REPEAT, GO-REPEAT....

That is a lame excuse because they obviously DID get fast scrolling to work. To their credit, however, the apple remote codes are near impossible to reverse engineer. I remember trying to get fast scrolling to work with my Lintronic and all the crazy things you had to do to fool the apple TV into doing it. The Apple remote works extremely well but they've inadvertently made a remote which functions unlike almost any remote out there.

I have received a response from Beocare todya regarding this issue and the response is.

That the Apple TV remote is to complex but there is a new PUC called Apple Remote 1.10a which turns the apple tv on and off but so far no genuis menu.

I spoke to my dealer and he said it can be reported to a guy at UK technical in charge of PUC so if we all make enough noise maybe we will get it.

Hello All

Can we all make enough noise for Bang and Olufsen to update the PUC for the Apple Remote as its missing one vital conversion.

I have fast scrolling on up and down but when you hold the Apple remote play button for 3 seconds you get another menu for activating Genius and adding music to On the Go.

If you hold the play button for 6 seconds it turns the unit to standby.

How do we get B&o to update there PUC to control these functions and standby to follow the tv woudl be nice.
