The sound quality on the BV8 40 is superb compared to the BV8 32, and I would say it is equally as good as the Avant - probably better!

I agree, the sound was also my main concern when buying the BV8-40. I use it in a setup with BL1/BL2/BL4000 and it works very good. The only thing I notice is that the setup tool for the speaker volume seems to set the volume of the attached speakers to hard compared to the center channel (BV8-40). But if you correct for this the sound quality is at least as good as the Avant that I used to have.

Thanks for the replies - I'm considering changing my Avant 32 but would not want to lose the great in-built sound.

When I compere it to my old Avant28" I would say that it is better. Maybe not so much bass, but that is fine by me..

Not sure about power output, but it's definitely better than the MX IMO. I would say it sits somewhere between the BeoVision 3 and Avant.

It is lauded as a "Main room TV" but how does the sound quality/power output on this new panel compare with the MX/BV3/Avant?
