I have a mix of 6500 & 7000 units with a MCP 6500 and I have Beolab Penta II's connected.

You have loads of choice in terms of speakers - new or older - but Penta's are fantastic I find - they have the imposing looks, superb sound & are very powerful.

Since I got my Beosystem 6500 some 4 months ago I've been using Beovox S80.2 and Beovox CX100 as linkroom speakers.

Regardless of the Beovox's used on a Beomaster with plenty of power like Beomaster 6000, 8000 and 6500 I find the bigger the speaker the more bass but with sound settings on flat the details of the freqs are pretty spot on and balanced. This includes apart from the 2 listed Beovox M150 and Beovox S120.

I don't have any active Beolabs as yet but Beolab Penta's mk III would be ideal with a Beosystem 6500. Again Beolab Penta's have their trouble with drivers and amps when getting old and you can put ICE power in Beovox Penta to really great sound quality.
