Charming! They are like jewelry boxes, and don't sound too bad either -hooked to BM1000's

Boris:

Thank's. For your help.

Ha, i've found 1 Beogram 4002 in Moscow..... price 700 Us Dollars. This is realy over priced, because i know, how das our people works. Buy something for 50-60 $- 90% with defect, repair it, and resale for 500-900 $.

Boris... These prices are high, but maybe not so bad for fully repaired and functional units in your area. As you said, they are for you and not for resale, so if they check out and are the best you can get your hands on... well, go for it! Especially as the BG4002 is in Moscow -you have the luxury to perhaps take personal delivery, inspect it, and get it home safe. Turntables tend not to travel well! Otherwise, take some time, perhaps more will show up! Enjoy!

Re: Vintage B&O componets selection.

nmartin771:

Hi Boris,

the oldest CD players - even B&O - are about 25 years old, so you can quite well call them vintage! As a matter of fact, I'm just now listening to my Sony CDP-30 I bought new in 1985.

If you plan to build a system older than that, a CD player might not be that suitable unless you hide it somewhere. Reel to reel tape recorders were pretty much gone by early/mid-70s and replaced by C-cassette recorders, so they might be more appropriate for a 60s setup.

Yes, we can call vintage. But, i don't like CD as a format. Several years ago, i make a choise- vinyl. Yes, 1st CD's with AAD (Analog analog digital) recording, sound better than ADD or DDD. If i couldn't buy something on vinyl, i buy CD. but i try to buy CD's wich were recorded in Japan. They better quality.

i am planing my system without CD player, but may be with C- casset recorder. About this i am still thinkig, because i have a very good 3 head c-casset vintage recorder.

Re: Vintage B&O componets selection.

I think they are little overpriced ....

If you have already sourced a 2400 rather than a 2400-2, then you should be open to any of the 400x turntables. The 4004 was mentioned as it would work with a Remote Commander (remote control). So, look for a 4000/4002/4004. Regarding cassettes, the later BC2000 deck matched the styling of the 2400. There may be some height variance, but that can be dealt with easy enough. The S45's are great speakers and well matched to the 2400, so you are good there!

Borisvk:

Perhaps you could have a play with some member's older gear?- I couldn't understand this phrase. Sorry.

Sorry, I mean perhaps there is a BeoWorld member in your area that might allow you to try out their older B&o equipment...

In fact, there is at least one fairly active member in Moscow. Perhaps he'll post here!

Good luck with your search. It is going to be fun!

Re: Vintage B&O componets selection.

Thank's all.

Peter, i am thinking, to buy or not to buy CD player to a vintage stereo. In my mind, the vintage stereo system shoud be consist from amplifier, speakers, vinyl, tape deck and REAL TO REAL. Last 8 years, i am buying only vinyl. I will try to find Beogram 4004 in Germany (the best way for me. Because, to buy vintage in Moscow- is not good idea). I have already found reciever 2400 (not 2400-2) and S 45-2 spekers.

To burantek I am from Russia, Moscow.

Perhaps you could have a play with some member's older gear?- I couldn't understand this phrase. Sorry.

Re: Vintage B&O componets selection.

Jaff I will send you bottle of finest single malt !!!
