Actually cooldude I hear difference in bass response and transparent of sound !!!

I can say I'm stunned with results !!! ..... sound is beautiful !

I notice that bass is responding only on 2.5 on the scale of 3, on my BM901

And sometimes I'm hearing very quiet noise ( like when you play LP ) ....

Bang&Olufsen often made very simple crossovers for their passive speakers. For example : the cx100 only has one cap and one little coil, so not much has been lost.

Just make sure the components are more or less close to the original values.

When I refurbished my cx100's , I did a comparison with :
1) original condition
2) upgraded to a new good quality cap (sounded cleaner, less muddy)
3) replaced the crossover completely with a ready-made off-the-shelf unit (only 12$ and normally used when building your own speakers) with good quality components. The sound was alot better, fuller, good bass and nice highs with full and animated mid tones. Also noticed an improved soundscape even at lower volumes.

Technology has moved on over the past 40 years and why not take advantage from it ?

Re: BeoVox crossover

Well, I don't know anything about the original crossover design of these particular speakers, so the best thing I can suggest would be to either try and get the originals back, or find the service manual for this model, check out the Xover schematic, make sure your components and values match up, and change them out if they don't.

Hope that helps.

However, I see absolutely no point in replacing them with something new... unless the old "crossover" was just a single cap

Re: BeoVox crossover

toyteg08:

Did he replace the capacitors in the crossovers, or do you mean that he tossed the original crossovers completely, and stuck in some off-the-shelf units? The latter would not be good, as they wouldn't replicate the proper transfer functions. You'd have many phase anomolies and frequency response irregularities.

Today I went to my service to pick up Beovox 800.

Guy told me he did basic service and change crossover on both speakers !!!!

He did that without letting me know before !

So, I took speakers and they are working very well, but I'm concern about this change .... crossover that he used are both 4 euro !

My question is should I put it back old crossover's or just leave lake that ?

anyone had experience with crossover change ?

One thing I want is authentic B&O sound !

Thanks
