hi does anyone have any ideas what could be making my beocentre 2 go into standbye during dvd playback it always happens when the dvd has been playing for about 1hour ?

I don't have a Beocenter2, so this is a wild guess on my part. Is it possible that you have somehow set the timer function to one hour? In that case it's possible that most CD's finish inside the hour and you don't notice a problem until you use a DVD. You need to trawl through your user manual to check how the timer/ alarm system functions.
