BV8-40 using L/R RCA from BM5 to L/R RCA BV8-40, VGA. In the connection menu it says AV3, source PC, IR none, HDMI none, YPbPr none, VGA yes, S/P-DIF none.

And it works, seems it automatically finds the audio / sound somehow.

Hope it works!

Re: BV 8-40 PC connection

I'm not sure if this helps, but I had my BV7 and Beomedia1 connected as you described, minijack and L/R in the BV7 and it worked.

My BV8-40 and my Beomaster5 is connected using vga (only works on AV3) and audio using RCA L/R (BM5) to RCA L/R (BV8).

I will check tonight at home how it looks like in my connections menu.

Re: BV 8-40 PC connection

So what are the red black and yellow RCA plugs for? I have connected a Black and Red RCA to 3.5mm headphone jack to my Mac's headphone outlet for sound but cannot get any. When I go to Connection menu I choose AV3, PC, VGA and the only sound option I get is P/S dif! How do I choose the Red and black outputs (Is it component?)

I have previously used this setup on a Sony Baravia and it worked brilliantly.

Cannot get any sound through the BV 8 however. Am I missing something?
