Will try that later on tonight Steve - not thought to look on the B&O website!

Will post how I get on...

John

Re: Beosound 2 & iTunes 8.2

Hi John.

Firstly, you need to make sure you have the latest version of iTunes.

Then you need to download the Mac software from the B&O website for the Mac OS you're using, and install it.

Restart iTunes, plug in BS2. Hold down the GO button on BS2 for two seconds-docking station LED should change to red.

A few seconds later you should see a picture of the BS2 briefly appearing in iTunes.

BS2 should appear as a device in iTunes.

Drag and drop album onto BS2 icon.

This will place the tracks into a file called 'Music' on the BS2.

With BS2 device highlighted in iTunes click the '+' button underneath the devices list.

A new folder will appear which you can name.

Click on the Music folder, select all and drag to named folder for you album.

Now you have your music organised by album. Repeat as necessary!

Hope this helps.

Any questions, please PM me.

Best wishes,

Steve.

Re: Beosound 2 & iTunes 8.2

I, too, bought a BS2 some months ago. Outdated, perhaps, but stylish! Unfortunately it doesn't work very well with Macs, especially with the new Intel-based ones, am afraid.

I had a lot of troubles with transfering music from my Mac to the BS2; iTunes crashed every time I tried to rename a playlist! Finally I formatted it and created the playlists (/folders) on PC with BeoPlayer and then I added the songs on my Mac. The iTunes plugin causes other problems too, whenever I plug my digital camera's Compact Flash card in iTunes crashes! Seems that the Beosound plugin thinks the card as the BS2 and tries to do something with it but fails....

You can have the iTunes opened and then connect the BS2. iTunes should show a small popup window with a BS2 picture for a few seconds and then it should mount on the iTunes just like iPod. Check that the docking station changes to RED (instead of green which is just playback mode). It changes mode when you press the GO button for a few seconds. Also the BS2 has to be in iTunes mode (changed as desribed in it's manual).

Also; what Mac do you use? I have an Intel MacBook. I tested with other non-intel macs but it worked pretty much the same way.

Hope you get it working!

Beosound 2 & iTunes 8.2

Apologies if this question is about five years out of date....

I just got a Beosound 2 and wanted to drag and drop playlists from iTunes on my Mac into the BS2 so that I can cycle through each playlist rather than skipping through each track individually. I'm currently having to drag and drop individual songs from iTunes into the BS2 folder that appears on my desktop when I connect it to my Mac via the docking station and USB connection.

I've tried putting the BS2 into iTunes mode, but to no avail! How can I get iTunes to work out that there's an mp3 player connected?

TIA
