That's good news. My understanding is that B&O has switched from an older software platform (Linux?) to an easier one for coding so that updates will be easier to implement as well as more frequent for us.

When my dealer went to upgrade my BS3 to the new software (6.11) they were advised by the North America B&O office not to. So I ended up with just 5.08. Anyone know of any issues?

Something about turning off while watching one HDMI source, then trying to turn on with a different HDMI source. US update to a good version 6 may be out in the next week or two.

If you can deactivate the TV tuner, source "TV" should appear in the connections menu as source...(?). this is what the MKIV does. Can you confirm this?

Is it also possible to deactivate the DVB tuner in 6.11?

With Gefen expander you have 7 (seven!?) HDMI sockets......

Does anybody know anything about other improvements/changes?

Yes, I have the Mk3, and the white flashes were even worse with the SW 5.08 with the Tvix at 24 Hz.

Yes, source TV appears in the menu.

Yes, is possible to deactivate the DVB tuner.

Yes, with Gefen HDMI Expander you will have 7 HDMI, but I think this is for the Mk4, to have 5 HDMI instead of 2. Gefen must be connected to C HDMI port.

Another improvements:

- Compatibility for Beomaster 5 in Beovision 9

- BS9000 clock gains time when BV is on standby.

Other minor issues that I should have to translate from spanish but they are too much technical for me, sorry.

Looks like finally they found the right SW

The weird thing is that the white flashes were fixed for me (and many others) back in sw 4.24 or something similar! Weird. Mind you, it's still pretty bad those white flashes were happening in the first place on a 1080P TV. You do have to ask how much testing they did with the BV7-40 MKIII when white flashes appeared with Blu-rays, PS3s and so on!

I have tested it with two movies on my Tvix at 24 Hz. With the last SW (5.08), a white line was all the time flashing under the image. Now it's gone.

Is possible to deactivate the analog TV tuner, but the TV button on the Beo4 doesn't turn on the DVB source.

HDMI Expander by Gefen is compatible now, to add more HDMI ports.

There are other improvements, but I don't remember now
