&lt;p&gt;Although the VX7000 is still going strong I am thinking about upgrading to a hard disk recorder, but I cannot live with an extra remote from a Japanese brand. As I see it the solutions are:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;HRD1: Should work with mx6000, but old and a bit expensive for what it is.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;HDR2: Does not work with mx6000 as far as I know&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Other brand recorder: modified to take Beolink commands, if possible. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;am I missing something?&lt;/p&gt;
