Thought this might be the case. Did think about swapping connections and will probably do so but sometime I intend to get some BL8000 for the main room and then I will be back to square 1. Will also look into MCL2A. Thanks for your help.

Re: switch off 2nd speakers beocenter 9300

Not possible with just the gear you have now, I'm afraid. If you don't mind the main room speakers being on all the time (and a slight pop when turning the Beocenter on) you might just swap the speakers 1 & 2 around, then the mute function will work on the extra room only.

If you need more elaborate control, you need an external box like a MCL 2A in the extra room. Then you can control those speakers independently, plus remote control the Beocenter from over there.

switch off 2nd speakers beocenter 9300

Hi. Recently purchased a Beocenter 9300 and have connected 2 sets of speakers (passive) to it and all is well except I want to switch off the 2nd pair independently. I know pressing mute will switch off the main speakers but I want to leave them on and be able to switch off the extra pair (in an adjoining room) without having to leave them disconnected. Didnt get a manual so have been looking on this site for info but cant find any mention of this. Thanks.
