&lt;p&gt;If i get a failed one, i just order the later VMEM/AMEM PCB and button pad - it costs the same as the older one!&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Take a digital camera and aim at the IR-LED of the BEO4&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;If there&amp;#39;s a periodic blueish blinking light it continuously sends a command; this would look like a stuck key.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Then a little dismantling &amp;amp; cleaning of the keyboard might help.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;EDIT: Just found out that V-TAPE doesn&amp;#39;t repeatedly send. I have changed the batteries but the remote only&amp;nbsp;displays V.TAPE . No other commands work. I can&amp;#39;t even turn off a TV, select CD, RADIO or anything else.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Any idea&amp;#39;s other than the remote is fried?&lt;/p&gt;
