You are right Chris, however, the Beoport cannot be set to option 0 when connected to a Mac running Mac os X. Only option 4 and 6 and supported by BM Link.
If striker wants to run windows on his Mac Mini then he could use your trick.
The main limition is that you cannot start the hifi by its local controls... and that the Beoport and Mac need to be on all the time.
I have an Airport Express and send the music to the Aux of my Beosound, I remote control it with my iPhone and I quite happy with that solution.

Hi, actually you can use your BS4000 with a BeoPort , with limitations: you will have to set BeoSound 4000 to option 0 (no remote control possible), and make all connections on the BeoPort box (infra-red sensor, Powerlink sockets, among others), and set BeoPort to option 2 or 6 depending on your setup.

My BeoPot worked with a BS2300 via datalink with the same limitations.

If you use Itunes you can buy an Apple airport express and will then be able to wirelessly stream the music to your BS 4000. You will also need an minijack to 5 pin din adapter to connect the airport express to the BS 40000.

If you install the free apple remote application on the iphone you will also be able to browse your music and control it with that

Yes I have an iPhone and iPod do I have any options available to me with these devices??

Beosound 4000 is unfortunately not compatible with N.Music. Only beosound 3000*, 3200, 9000*, 2, 4, 5 are compatible. Have you got an iPhone or an iPod touch? * with the right firmware.

BeoPort and Beosound 4000??

I have a BeoSound 4000/ Overture and a Beolab 2000 hooked together via MasterLink. I was hoping to connect this system to a new Mac Mini via BeoPort. I would like to listen to some of my digital library. Would such an arrangement be possible? If so how would it be done???
