The Beo 4 controls all basic functions with the exception of turning it off. However, I have the player set to turn off after 30 minutes paused so I use STOP on the Beo 4 to pause it when done and 30 minutes later it will turn off. Of course it can also be turned off on the player itself when removing the disc but the other method works fine when stopping in the middle of a movie.

Re: beosystem 3 and blue ray

355f:

Please can anyone advise of a blue ray player that works with beosystem 3 and what leads are required? is it just hdmi??
Will BS3 control the blue ray via beo 4 or is that to much to ask! any issues I should know about or any exprtise--- feel free

Sony BDP-S300 (I don't really know market specifications...). I can confirm this by looking at the PS3 display which says it is playing DTS 5.1, and the BS3 sound menu is stating Multichannel PCM 5.1 which makes sense.

I agree with Corvin, you only need an HDMI cable.
