Moxman, I've read with interest some of your observations which are frightening, but I think your set was a bit of a dog.

To be fair, the crashing-under-Sky looks like it's a one-off. However, all the other 'issues' are across all MKIV's. I'm thinking the external Blu-ray internal player, the DVD juddering caused by lack of 24fps support on linkroom TVs, the yellow+button control over the 'internal' DVD, the two HDMI ports used on installation and poorer SD than the MKIII.

They aren't restricted to my MKIV - they are across every MKIV.

On a sidenote, B&O come on this forum? That would be a first! They don't ever even reply to my press queries, from our IT magazines, never mind answer customer queries! Seriously. If I email on behalf of our magazine(s), they don't reply. HQ sometimes say 'well get someone on to that', but don't. I find that bizarre. I don't know if they don't want us to feature their products (possibly!), but with access to hundreds of thousands of UK readers, you would have thought they'd reply. The readership of our key IT magazine is made up of males, average age 45, higher than average disposable income and fairly tech illiterate. I'd have thought that would be ideal for B&O marketing.

Re: Turning BV7-40 MKIV 100Hz mode on/off/auto?

Moxman, I've read with interest some of your observations which are frightening, but I think your set was a bit of a dog. Haven't heard of any similar tales and have had only the briefest glance.

Perhaps it is an appropriate time for B&O to come onto this forum and set the record straight and answer your queries. Perhaps you might be pointed to your Dealer, but in fairness your Dealer has to get through to a distant Technical Support Team hundreds of miles away - the 7-40 MK4 is supposed to be the latest revision of the BV7, and at £10,000 or thereabouts I think you have every right to press hard for answers instead of scouring for information from any source possible.

If you don't get the answers to your questions, then it looks like your Dealer has lost a sale which would be a shame.

Turning BV7-40 MKIV 100Hz mode on/off/auto?

I read a review of a 100Hz Samsung LCD and it said "How will you know if the 100Hz is for you? Besides being able to set the Auto Motion Plus
100Hz mode to Low, Medium, High, or Off, users may also set the unit to
its ‘Demo Mode' – a mode where the F8 splits its screen into two and
shows you the difference between having the 100Hz mode on or off."

Are these options available in the BV7-40 MKIV service menu? I can't find them. I don't know if 100Hz is on as default, auto, off or set to 'low'? Beolab mentioned that the screen information displayed 50Hz even though it was a 100Hz panel. I'm also wondering whether he received a reply from B&O regarding why it stated 50Hz in the customer service menu, on the MKIV.

BTW, has anyone else bought a MKIV yet, apart from me? Not seen any other user feedback?
