Don't give up hope MarcDeSmet

Based on my operating experience with BeoPort, there are many opportunities to use BeoPort in conjunction with Beolink wireless. The only point that I need to make is that my wireless units purchased around two years ago had to have a software upgrade in order to maximise their capability. In my house, I have the following configurations that you might like to consider.

My main room components are based on BV7, BeoPort (to computer) and a Beolink Wireless transmitter, each connected with a ML cable to a ML distributor box.

Room 1 has a Beolink wireless receiver, IR receiver and Beolab 4000 speakers

Room 2 has a Beolink wireless receiver connected to a Beolink video converter with a ML cable and a MX7000 TV connected to the converter using the datalink cable.

Room 3 has a Beolink wireless receiver and IR receiver connected to a BC9300 using a specially modified powerlink cable into the Tape2 socket.

At the moment, I am also using a wireless receiver and IR receiver to supply the Tape2 connection in the BM8000. I even send NMusic to a very old BM1400 and it works nicely.

As you can see, there are many possibilities for using Beolink wireless and Beoport, even with old equipment if you are prepared to fiddle with two remotes or manual switching. NRadio and NMusic commands are delivered using ATape2 and Phono on the older Beo4s. The only thing that you have to avoid is conflicting signals if you happen to have a tape or beogram connected in somewhere.

There are heaps of possibilities so keep exploring.

Regards

Geoff

Re: Connecting a Beoport

No: BeoPort is not BL Wireless compatible

Connecting a Beoport

Can I connect a Beoport via a wireless ML link to my Beosound system or is it only working via cable.
