There was one for sale about 20 miles up the A10 from you!!

Now you need a Beolink Converter Type 1611, a masterlink cable and an audio aux link cable and you will hear Ouverture sound in the MX speakers.

Re: MX 4000 questions

Hi:

Thanks I have a Beovision 1 myself but could not really afford to get her one of these. I understand that the sound quality of the MX4000 I have will not be as good as say with a Beovision 1 but until I can afford to upgrade the MX4000 for her you suggest I need a Beolink module. I am unsure what one of these is, however, I hazzard a guess at it being one of those control boxes that is mounted into the wall and forms part of a multi-room system. I think in the short to medium term this is my best option. Could anyone shed some light on doing this?

Thanks

To be honest. I would look for a set with masterlink (like a 4002 or 4200 they look nearly identical to yours).

Or you could go for a beovision 1 as they have the active speakers built in!

Hope this helps

I barely understand the difference between powerlink, datalink and masterlink, indeed I only just remembered the term datalink. As far as I am aware, powerlink is for connecting speakers, I know nothing of datalink. masterlink carries Audio signals and coupled with a RF cable, transmits video also. I have checked around the forum but the other posts either only touch on the subject or confuse me further. So, is my proposal possible with a non ml MX4000?

Thanks

My MX4000 is now sitting on the wall as planned. It does not have ML (were any of them equiped with this). This therefore brings me onto my next question:

If in the future I picked up an Ouerture or something simillar, could this be conected to the TV thus utilising the TV speaker. Also, could I then get a wireless speaker (B&O or other) and place this elsewhere in the house with a link eye thus creating a basic multiroom system?

Thanks

I have an MX4000 and wall stand which I have just purchased for my mother-in-law. My initial impressions are that it is yet another lovely looking set from B&O yet I think the LED/reciever unit placed in the top right hand corner of the set detracts from its overall appearance.

I am planning to mount this on the wall yet I don't have any screws. Could someone tell me (I am a novice at DIY) what size, type and name of screws I need, what size drill bit I need and what kind of rawl plugs. It is to go on an internal - i.e. not exterior brick wall but it is not plasterboard. The wall is of Victorian construction so I do not know if breeze blocks were invented back then.

Also I note that some stands had a slot for a video or sky box - this is not immediately apparent to me - is there a extra bit I need to bolt onto my stand or was there a specific stand that had this slot and if I don't have it, I don't have it?

Thanks
