Now that is my great great great great grandfather on my mother's side. I have the original portraits of him and his wife and their respective mothers. This is his wife.The pictures are life size so take up a fair amount of wall space!

i ask because i thought that was a portrait of you. i wouldn't have thought that the local PCT would have commissioned that no matter how wondrous a GP you are so was thinking may be it was a portrait of you or a distant relative on your wooden paneled walls...very cool!

i'm too young to remember the good ole days but given the photos of past products i agree wholeheartedly.

I agree Peter.
That box is so much more pleasing than the one in my picture.
The gold B&O on the outside looks like it came from the BeoVox 5000, the only place I can think of seeing it in gold....unless somebody knows different.

I posted this as a reminder of what B&O stands for. Here we have a box - it is of no real use once the cartridge is fitted. However care and attention has been lavished upon this and there are no corners cut. To hark back to a post of mine on another thread, this is a joy to behold. It is a pleasure to just hold and examine it. It is probably my favourite piece of B&O as it epitomises all that was great about the company. The whole ownership experience was made to be perfect - this was part of the Beolab 5000 range so everything was made to the best standard that was possible, even the box for the cartridge.

Close enough! It is actually an SP cartridge box. I had a couple of these. they come in an outer cardboard box with the cartridge inside. If you look carefully, you can see these are properly jointed rosewood boxes. Apparently they were made by the apprentices. The soul destroying bit is that most were opened by dealers and thrown away! They were actually used for the SP8/9 range - the cost of which was £13 !!!
