However, the problem is that the standard doesn&amp;#39;t cover all details like the actual frequencies that are used (a &amp;quot;localized&amp;quot; tuner might not reach all frequencies you&amp;#39;d need), the compression method (MPEG2 now, but might change) and the software in the box itself may need localization to fully support the transmissions. For example, there are at least two methods of subtitling, and Germans typically don&amp;#39;t use either of them (but dub instead &lt;img src="http://forum.beoworld.org/emoticons/36.gif" alt="Ick!" /&gt; ) and that feature might be bug-ridden due to lack of use. Encryption methods are also quite localized and you probably would not be able to view any pay-TV channels with an imported STB.&lt;/p&gt;
