&lt;p&gt;I have made sure that the Beo4 is always in &amp;#39;DVD&amp;#39; mode. When I press stop it pauses, stop again and it stops, press and hold a third time and nothing happens (other than a cross appearing on screen to signify that the command is not applicable).&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Press STOP to Pause the DVD, then STOP again to stop it, then press long time to eject it.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This might not work on all the DVD players/Beovisions.&lt;/p&gt;
