This is a well known issue within B&O. The foil can malfunction on serial numbers lower than 20700500 and all serial numbers 94xxxxxx, and should be replaced if this happens. But there are issues with the newer version as well where the touch foil malfunctions or does not function at all due to fault in tolerances in the touch foil (from serial number 20700500).

Had the touch foil replaced on mine (94xxxxxx snr), and it has worked without a flaw ever since

I have my BS 3 for almost 3 years no and never had a problem with it. Today, when I came back from work, it was switched on without any reason and it wouldn't go to standby. Some touches of the touchpad show a reaction, but not the right one, others don't react at all. Called my dealer; it needs to go to hospital...

I had this problem twice with my BS 3 - my dealer told me it was a manufacturer fault and replaced the top panel both times out of warranty. I eventually sold mine which ultimately solved the problem!!

I think this was a common fault with them... you have to take it back for repair.

it shows the time (so the battery is loaded or at least the system gets power), but the touch panel on the top shows nearly no reation, you had to press the "buttons" many times before anything will happend ?
