You can only do this with Masterlink and the Remote Eye. You have just discovered the difference between the two wiring conventions.

You either use Mk2 fully wired powerlink OR Masterlink and a link eye.

1. Masterlink is used for converting the ML signalling from a ML based system (like BS3200) to an existing MCL-setup. It powers the passive speakers in the link rooms in a MCL network.

Adrain, the Masterlink socket has two purposes. Firstly if it is been used as a Beolink Passive. In connection with the remote eye. Secondly if you had an existing MCL based multiroom setup. Then decided to replace your Audio Master with a Masterlink one. You would connect to the converter to Audio Master via Masterlink. Then the MCL connection would go it the speaker connections of the converter. As for the diagram we have user and service manuals available to download. You will need to be either a Silver or Gold member to be able to do this.

Sorry, forgot to mention that I tried it with powerlink as well, to no avail (not fully wired however).

Your answers give rise to a couple of questions:

1, what's the masterlink socket for?

2,where did you get the attachment picture from?

Craig is correct - see also picture in attachment.

There may be a "plop" in the speakers while switching on (no speaker delay)

Hi Adrian, and welcome to Beoworld. You need to connect the ML/MCL Converter to your Beosound via Powerlink. Also think you need a MK2 Powerlink cable. Sometimes called fully wired.

I have recently attached a ML/MCL Converter to my Beosound 3200, to power a pair of passive speakers, which were already integrated into my living room. The converter is attached to the Beosound via a Masterlink cable, and the speakers plugged into the normal speaker sockets on the converter. The Powerlink socket on the converter is currently empty, as is the IR socket. The Beosound also drives a pair of Beolab 6000 speakers, via a separate Powerlink cable.

The problem - no sound from the passive speakers. The red light on the converter is on. Do I need to configure/control the Beosound differently somehow? Any ideas at all?
