Try a CD rather than a DVD... Its a long shot but worked for somone on the old forum. If it does not work get a quote from B&O service then contact seller, you may be able to do a deal...

SORRY, although Japanese as well, it's Pioneer, of course!!! (no blushing smiley available?)

I have one, too, and no problem so far - I guess I wanted to say avoid the Philips one.

It is based on the U7 DVD unit from Pioneer

I suggest you first determine which version DVD1 you have purchased.

Have a look at the 4 digit "type" number

Mark I has 4620

Mark II has type numbers from 4621 to 4627

Yeah, but it could also be that it's just the one with the older Philips guts (how old is yours?) - in that case not so much help available, I'm afraid (have one myself). the later vintage with Panasonic drives are better...

No!! I collected it from their home.... T

hey didn't have a Beovision so I couldn't test it. The lady I bought it from says she was selling it on behalf of her father and told me it works perfectly. I think she'll be getting a phone call today

Almost certainly the DVD mech needing replacement unfortunately..

Was it shipped by courier? We've had a couple recently at LifeStyle that i even tested myself before despatch that have arrived and played up - obviously due to being bounced nice and hard by UPS...

DVD 1 Freezes....

Hi Beoworlders,

I was watching a DVD on the weekend on my DVD1 connected to my Mx7000. After about 15 minutes playing it just froze and wouldn't respond to any commands. I switched it off, but it came up with 'disc error'. I waited a while and tried again. The disc played for about 15 minutes then froze again. I then tried again and got 'disc error' again. I then had to wait a little while and tried a different DvD. Same thing!!

Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what may be wrong?

I bought the DVD player second hand and it's the first time I've used it. I was assured it was working perfectly....
