This is I think the third attempt at e-commerce in the States: first was the world's weirdest system where you "bought" a telephone online, but all it did was notify the closest dealer you wanted to buy one. Then there's the current system, which you can see by telling the site you're in North America. It's a little bit better, but hosted on some random domain and the navigation on the left is sloppy, with fonts changing several times on different pages. I guess they're hoping Amazon has more experience with this new, trendy "buying online" thing.

Ironically Amazon's hometown, Seattle, has no B&O dealer.

These products have been available on line through the B&O website for ages in the US only. Obviously they are looking to increase the market. Obviously the geography makes dealers a bit scarce!

there is a thread about a collaboration between amazon.com and B&O on the Beoworld homepage, but there is no such thread. ???
