I have a philips DVD player from 2005 which i use in my main room - the menu for the DVD player on my BC1 is identical to my Philips DVD player... oh, does this mean i actually have the philips model? :(

Re: Beocenter 1 Life span

The Philips menu has a whole lot of ridiculous symbols which defy logic. The Pioneer uses text instead! Debatable which is better.

Re: Beocenter 1 Life span

Yes I trust my eyes. But sometimes i want to know some more indepth details.

Especially because its not for myself.

For example I read on Beocentral that from 2004 a DVD player from Pioneer was used ( instead of the earlier philips ) So there were some adjustments.

It seems they could be recognised by slightly different more elaborate on-screen menus.

Now im also wondering what those differences were, so if anyone knows ?

I have a BC1 on my work room wall from 2003/4 Type number 8523 with 423 video days on the service counter and it is still sharp and bright with standard settings.

Personally, I never look at the service counters when I buy TV's. I trust my eyes, if it looks Ok then it probably is OK

Beocenter 1 Life span

Does someone know what is the general life span of the BC1 tube ?

Probably in service terms howmany days is it minimally capability for running from factory ?

Looking to buy one for someone else so i need to check its status.
