You have mentioned this a couple of times in the past, but I have yet to see it!
When about to record, one can see all the red LED (recording level) bars on the Beocord 7000. Am I supposed to see them replicated on the Beolink 7000 too?
Have I misunderstood something?

The product you have is the US version of the BeoCenter 2300, and was actually named BeoSound 2300. We have attached the user guide, and please let us know if you need further information.

The Beosystem 7000 (for instance) used a remote called the Beolink 7000. This sent out commands like the normal Beo4 but also had a receiver so could accept messages from the music system, if said syatem was fitted with a transmitter. This had the huge advantage that one could control a system from another room and retain full control of what it was doing and its status. for instance one could monitor recording levels on the tape player, see which track was playing on the CD and get RDS information about the radio channel. It also allowed programming of the system in a very complax way - one could set programmes to play on different days and times for years ahead. An incredible remote for its time! The first 2300s would work with this remote and the simpler Beolink 5000.

Yes. There were changes made through its production run though. The CD mechanism changed at least once for instance and it lost the two way remote facility fairly early on. But is essence, they are the same.

They started off as Beocenter 2300 which was called the beosystem 2300 when Beolab 2500s were attached. When the Ouverture replaced the 2500, the 2300 was renamed Beosound. About 1994.

Not to be confused with the Beomaster 2300!!

I also owned the BeoSound 2300 in the 90s and it was definitely called the BeoSound 2300 not a BeoCentre or a BeoSystem. It had CD and radio with the red digital display, the glass sliding doors and the small CD clamper. I bought it from Kingston upon Thames dealership then traded it in several years later at another. I am quite certain they did change the name to a BeoSystem at a later date and that was because of speaker options.

I think it was called Beocenter 2300 when it was first introduced or Beosystem 2300 when it was bought together with Beolab 2500's. After a while it was renamed Beosound 2300. As far as I know at the same time the two way communication was dropped. Not sure though...

so according to this site beocenter 2300 = beosound 2300? Is it like called beosounds 2300 in the US and called beocenter 2300 in europe or something?

or is this some knock off, and i'll find out it that the Bang & Olufsen logo actually says "Bing @ Olufson"... ha h aha

On the back of my machine it actually has that sticker that says beosound 2300, and yes it has a sliding door and a CD player. What the freak is this thing?
