that does look like a funky piece of kit. as it's for a second room i may just have to bite the bullet & buy a second amp. won't that be a shame ladies & gents?!

Both sites are in german, there is a button for english language but nothing changes if you press it.

I think the theory of the OP is becoming a little lost. The idea was to run his MC35's directly from an iPod dock by replacing them as the original speakers without having to utilise a B&O amp.

The first answer was correct - not likely to work very well.

There's a strong likelihood the iPod dock will contain a corrective EQ curve for the built in speakers. Unless you can bypass this (which you may well not be able to as all the electronics will almost certainly all be on a single IC), you'll end up with an equally hideous sound from the MC35s...

Better to buy an iPod dock without speakers (19.99 from Richer sounds inclusing remote), connect this to a suitable amplifier ( a vintage Beomaster would be ideal) using a suitable cable and wire up you speakers to that.

I don't think the dock will have the power to drive the speakers. Would be totally mismatched I'm sure.

What ho,

I'm having a thought about the iPod dock at my friend's house. It's a bit crap & everytime I am there I cringe at the sound. It so happens that I have some spare speakers atm (my old MC35s) & I'm thinking that if I open up the iPod dock, disconnect the internal speaker(s) & wire in the passives, I'll have a working iPod dock running through decent speakers?

Am I right in this or is this completely inaccurate due to some technical thingy that I've overlooked?
