Hi David,

there is a very slim chance it will dry out and be usable. The exact same thing happened to one of my BC6000's but I was quick enough to remove the battery immediately and put the handset in a dry warm place for a few days - the airing cupboard.

It worked fine afterwards.

If not then you will need to either send it for repair or I think there is an upgrade kit which provides all the parts you need to get it working again. I'm pretty sure the upgrade kit still allows you to use the original MK1 base. Members Keith Saunders & Jandyt know a bit more about these kits and will probably be along shortly to either back me up or shoot me down in flames

Hi David

First thing is remove the battery!

Open the phone up using a credit card around the edge. If it fell into anything except clean non-salty water rinse it off with tap water prior to drying. Give it a fairly vigourous shake (though don't let it fly out of your hand!) to remove as much water as you can.

Leave it somewhere warm (not hot) and safe to dry. I'd recommend a couple of weeks.

Reassemble and hopefully all will be well.

Don't open it....

I would try a blow dryer on a warm or cool setting.... through the keypad.

If not.... you will probably have to go to the dealer for repair.

Hi folks

My wife just told me that she drowned one of our three handsets (first generation). Now its dead (or sleeping, i hope...).

What shall we do ?

Open it and trying to dry it ? But how do you open one of these headsets? There is no service manual on beoworld.

Throw it away and buy a new one of the latest generation and upgrade the base and the other handsets?

Any suggestions or comments are highly appreciated
