The screen offers far more detail. I attach my Mac to the BC2 via Beoport and therefore get all the information on the screen. The BS3200 has a very limited display in comparison. The BS4 shares the same screen. I too mainly use my iPhone etc to control music.

Re: Beocenter 2 vs. Beosound 3200 & the future

Thanks guys - useful observations.

I'm 101% committed to AirTunes delivering an audio signal from my Mac running iTunes into an AUX port and controlled by my iPhone. Far too much invested in ripping and ID3 tags to start over ;-)

This means primarily i'm looking for the best "amplifier" I guess between the BC2 and BS3000/3200, with the ability to drop a CD as and when I purchase new discs before they get ripped as i'm still a heavy purchaser of discs.

Is the reference to the screen to do with displaying name/artist info - or some other reason?

Many thanks

The BC2 also has a much bigger screen, as does the BS4. However if I was starting again, I would not get either really. I would have a big HDD and probably simply rip all my music to lossless. Not sure if I would get the Beosound 5 - probably is the answer but at present I use a BC2 and my Mac but actually listen to about 95% of my music from the Mac controlled with my iPhone or iTouch through my wired B&O system via a Beoport. Good quality sound and all my music without messing around with discs.

Re: Beocenter 2 vs. Beosound 3200 & the future

Welcome to this site and forum.

I have a BeoSound 3000 (chose it over 3200), and I then use BeoPort to access my digital music collection stored on my PC via N.Music. Not sure how the N.Music function works with Mac. BeoCenter 2 also comes in a Audio only version, but there may not be so many pre owned on the market yet.

I also have had the BeoLab 8000 as front speakers in combination with BeoLab 2, worked very fine for me. The 8000 have now been demoted to rear speakers.

No experience with the audio quality between the two.

My first post, having lurked for a while. I'm not yet a B&O owner, but am looking at diving in shortly with a Beosound 3000/3200, Beolab 8000 speakers and Beolab 2 sub - more than likely previously owned examples too.

So, far i've settled on the 3000/3200 over a Beocenter 2 setup because my needs are audio only (CD & AirTunes to a Mac Mini + NAS) and thus represents better value - although i'd generally advocate buying the most recent examples of a technology to ensure it's as "current" in it's thinking as can be.

I notice that the Beosound 3200 isn't featured in the Beolounge (unless I simply can't find it) and wondered if this was a sign that this unit was on it's way out from the current line up - perhaps lending more weight to plump for a Beocenter 2. Or indeed, if anyone has experience in audio quality between these two master units and would suggest one over the other - i'd really welcome your thoughts.

Many thanks in advance - it's great to be joining this community.
