I'm judging it on the way it looks and how much it costs. I'm now totally aclimatised to B&O where the aesthetics and userinteraction are as important as performance.

When something costs that much, it has to tick all the boxes!

I think it's worth pointing out that the person who was in charge of the BL5 development team at B&O, and who was the engineer behind the room correction in the BL5s, has been working at Lyngdorf for a number of years. Jan Abildgaard Pedersen was disenchanted with the lack of support for the potential in room correction at B&O, and took his know-how to Lyngdorf.

It's kind of silly to criticize the technology on the basis of a few pictures - you have to listen to these. Among other things, Room Perfect, the room-calibration technology developed by Lyngdorf, is quite amazing.

Their home theatre systems look very dubious. A line-source speaker system with what seems like no sort of waveguides/horns? Not a true line-source I'm really, simply a load of tweeters piled on top of each other which will result in comb filtering...

Why are you being so harsh? How cheap can it be when it is wood veneer laminated on top of solid blocks of aluminium? Besides the system do employ state of the art full band digital equalization and the loudspeakers are dipoles which: nothing of which screams cheap or cutting corners.

I'm sorry, but it looks old and cheap! Haven't seen it in person of course but B&O's systems were better designed than this in the early 70's!!

Bet you a million bucks it doesn't sound as good as a pair of BL5's - which would you choose? I'd rather buy BL5's and even donate the rest to charities! I'd still have money left over i'm sure!

The big buttons remind me of the old 8track we used to have waaaaaaaay back when I was a kid.

Besides the fact it would make a good looking footing for a sculpture, I really find the design awkward and unimaginative. Makes the beosound5 look like an amazing feat of design and engineering though....

I know some people might like this and it's there full right to do so. it just is not for me as there are better designed alternatives out there.

I dunno why... but the design is very Japanese Zen to my eyes. It's also very macho in a way. But it's okay..... I will probably get it if I have the money though.

It might sound great but sure ain't good design.
Only redeeming factor would be the use of wood....something we probably will see more of in the future. (are you listening B&O ?)
I love original design, but (personal opinion, so please take no offense.) honestly, this one looks like a tree trunk with a cd player some nobs and a display stuck on it.

The price is fairly ridiculous as well.

Quite like the wood CD player - also like the top of the range system for a few dollars short of $1,000,000 ! Don't think my rooms are quite big enough though!

I think this source is mentioned for 2 kind of people. People who like this, and people that hate it (there is no way between it ).I like it because of the past and the future mix. This one will look good in a old house with high ceilings and marmer floors, but you can also put it in a very modern house.

But at the end I still love it. The wooden one will look very nice when there are 2 lab 5's next to it . I agree to Rober that the speakers (2 subs and 2 huge fronts) are to big.

Thank you for sharing these deep black lacquer moments. Indeed a nice website! The gold remote is an eye opener to. The speakers are bulky in my opinion, with 400W integrated amp.

Everybody knows the piano's of Steinway & Sons. Now they worked together with the high-end firm Lyngdorf to create this very special serie. My first thought was a bit unsure, but now I think I really love it . It's like their piano's, very elegant, classy and timeless...

They should have put Bang & Olufsen on it (or replace the bs10 with this one)
