&lt;p&gt;6000&amp;#39;s tend to get a thumbs down here on beoworld, but there has been a thread or two stating the same as you.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;i am also a defender of the 6000 in the right settings. in my case, it was not the room as much as it was placement.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;when placed widthwise rather than lengthwise in the room, they really were perfect for the space.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;sadly, current room layout dictated they be placed lengthwise, so i moved them to rear channel positions and put wall mounted 4000&amp;#39;s up front.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;in short, i think all speakers (except lab5&amp;#39;s -i&amp;#39;m sure) can suffer from poor placement and conversely shine when placed correctly.&lt;/p&gt;

My Beolab 6000 now act in a new living room and the acustical difference compared to my old living room is simply great!&lt;br /&gt;The 6000 now sound much better, fresher than in my old living room - I re-discovered my B&amp;amp;O System!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I will NOT imagine how a Beolab 5 would sound (dreaming ...) ;-)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Have a nice day :-)&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div style="clear:both;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</description></item></channel></rss>
