Strange, I'm in England and when I send stuff to Scotland it always arrives the next day.

i know the product was faulty, i was not imagining it wouldnt fit, and i didnt see why i should have to slice off some cable after getting a £3000 unit. you would expect the simple things like power supply to work

nevertheless, because the system was bought in england and im in scotland, i just cut the cable otherwise i would be waiting a long time

still trying to figure out how and what the basic functions are and how to us e them!!

Re: Beocenter 2 help needed - power cable doesnt fit socket box!

Guys it wasn't the cable, click on the first picture, it was taken with a glotious camera, you can see the fault of the product, a couple of milimetres of the socket is covered!! The square socket accepts the normal fig-8 cable. :)

kevnick i would have taken the thinkg back to B&O to fix for you under warranty as it was a fault on the product.

Re: Beocenter 2 help needed - power cable doesnt fit socket box!

hi all

dorted - ended up having to shave off quite a lot of the plastic off the plug then jam the damn thing in

but hey, it has power, but still trying to figure out how to work the beo4 and the beocenter 2 itself as the B&O dealer did not include the manuals! clever eh....but i believe they are on their way

some B&O products have the figure 8 and some have the square on one side

you can get the plugs at a local electronics store and they work fine

I've done that on many occasions.

That is normal and does not affect the fitment of the plug, you need to roll up your sleeves and try to jiggle it in (push the plug in at an angle to get around that over lap), because as you can clearly see in the photo, the product has a fault in it's build and the metal casing is interrupting the socket...

If that doean't work and you want to cut it, just use a stanley knife and shave a bit off of one of the flat sides of the plug, for it to squeeze through the faulty casing to the socket. (FYI you can cut off quite alot, but it isn't nessisary to cut that much, as the overlap on the socket isn't very big.

Re: Beocenter 2 help needed - power cable doesnt fit socket box!

are you sure i should cut it or it will definately fit?

as you can see in the socket photo, the top part of it is squared off/flat, not round, if you get what i am meaning

how much of the plastic can i cut off of the cable without affecting any metal/wiring?

Hi all

today i received delivery of an ex-demo beocenter 2, and socket box. however when i took it home, i tried to plug the power cable into the power socket on the socket box, and it wouldnt fit! the power cable is a figure-of-eight shape, whereas the socket hole is a slightly different shape.

i dont know if the metal plate that is put on the socket box has been put on off-line/off-centre, or if i have been given the wrong/old cable for the socket box. i have attached photoss of both the power cable and the power socket connection.

any ideas?

kevin

Just press harder :)

I had the same "problem" with my beolab 10 speaker, it had the same connecter as your panel, and in the BL10 box was the same figure 8 cable as on you picture.

They will fit, you just need to jiggle and press a bit harder.

/Weebyx

The socket is definitely crooked, but there should be some movement for you to jiggle the plug in
