Thank you all for your suggestions.

I will try out some more stuff this weekend. I actually tried both the REC in and REC OUT pins, with a mp3 player connected, but sound could be heard.

I will try out a different cable this weekend, made from scratch. Last weekend I used an old pre-made 3.5 mm cable from which I cut off the cinch (RCA) connectors. Maybe the cable itself was broken.

Kind regards,

Just a couple of points that may help - if you are connecting a computer to your BeoCenter, you will probably be using a 3.5mm stereo TRS plug at the other end of the cable. Ensure that the Sleeve (the contact furthest from the tip) goes to pin 2(the one in the centre of the "C" shape on the DIN plug. The Ring (the middle contact on the TRS plug) goes to pin 5 and the Tip goes to pin 3.

Ensure that you plug into the Aux socket, not a Powerlink wsocket (the DIN plug will fit any socket, but will only work in the Aux socket.

As mentioned previously, set the PC volume to between 70-90% and plug in a pair of headphones to the same socket first to ensure that you are getting sound out of the computer.

Switch the BeoCenter to "Aux" and ensure that the speakers are connected correctly. If you have any problems, there are many places where the cables you need can be purchased at very low prices.

Best regards,

Steve.

I've run into this several times - try swapping round the pins, ie, wiring it to the output instead!

Re: How to use AUX in on Beocenter 2500

They are cheap.

No need to order from B&O.

This is what you need.

Get one with female or male RCA connectors, depending on your needs.

My girlfriend just "inherited" a beocenter 2500 system from her Father.

In addition to radio and CD we want to connect her computer to the beocenter.

I soldered an aux in cable, using wiring information from this site, but no sound can be heard when switched to aux.

Can it be that a voltage must be present on pin 6 of the aux connection? If yes, does any voltage above 3.5 V suffice? So, could i use a small power adaptor with say 5 V connected to pin 6 and the aux in would work?

Or do I have to purchase a (surely not very cheap :-( ) adapter from BO?

Thanks in advance for any information you could give me,
