I noticed the same thing, until sw 5 was installed in November. Now there is little difference between HD and SD channels or between Sky and Freeview. There used to be a big difference between HD channels and SD, before sw. You had to up the volume by 10 levels to listen effectively.

Re: Sound level on BV 7-40 MKII vs. MKIII

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the mk2 go up to 72 while the mk3 goes up to 90?

Re: Sound level on BV 7-40 MKII vs. MKIII

We have a MKIII and while I can not compare the volume to a MKII, I do feal that we must turn the volume up pretty high, around 60 for TV and movies.
I can confirm that I too noticed a difference in sound volume when switching from BV7-40 Mark II to Mark III. I cannot explain it. I also notice that if I switch from Sky TV to the 7-40 DVBT then the volume almost doubles in terms of loudness! Crazy. These BangVisions certainly do have some strange behaviours!

Simon.

PS Yesterday I got a green screen while watching a movie!

Sound level on BV 7-40 MKII vs. MKIII

I have recently upgraded my setup from BV 7-40 MKII to BV 7-40 MKIII, and after that upgrade I often find myself listening to music at a sound level between 70 and 80 and sometimes almost at 90.
As far as I recall, when I in the past got to 80, the sound pressure was enormous (in the past I had never reached 90, I think that would have knocked down the walls) .

Does anyone have the same problem? And what can I do to fix it?

My setup is BV7-40 MKIII, BL5, BS/BM5, my BL5 is connected with digital cables to my BM5 and with powerlink to my BV. I have tried to play CD from my BV, with the same result.

Thank you in advance.

Regard
Lørup
