For the sake of others searching for this:

the 2009 Variant of Sky+ has the IR receiver immediately to the right of the row of buttons on the front.

the PACE Sky Box DS445 i.e the curvy one, has the IR receiver where the envelope or mail symbol is.

The same trick is good for checking speaker drivers without removing the frets

Re: Sky and Sk+ IR

Agree - my Pace Sky+ box has the sensor between the last of the horizontal row of silver buttons and the LED showing the remote is operating - you can often make out a translucent area on the front which is not marked - this would be a good area to try first. Remember Sky+ uses a different set of codes to plain Sky so you will need to change the STB-C type.

Re: Sky and Sk+ IR

Hi John.
As there are different models of the Sky+ box, I suggest you find the correct placement with the assistance of another person.
Whilst you move the IR about, get them to repeatedly press numbers on the Beo4 until they are read accurately. That's the way I positioned mine.

This may have been answered before (but I cannot find it) so apologies in advance.

I have just upgraded to Sky+ from NTL and I don't know where the IR receiver on the Sky+ box is located for the STB-C. Same question for the new style standard Pace Sky box (as I got multiroom) ?

Big difference in picture quaity and sound btw.
