Pressing exit is not the problem.

I will say, however, that my Avant always defaults to Speaker 3. If I want the rears on, I have to press Speaker 4 or Speaker 5 on my Beo4.
Have you got 'Speaker' added to your Beo4 list?

Re: Rear speaker problem

I did that, but then had to press exit to get out of the menu....

Maybe by doing so, I cleared the setting.
I need some help with my setup.....

I have an Avant with a surround kit and a set of Lab 4s connected as front speakers. These work perfectly and are enough for the small room they are in. I have a spare set of CX100s, so thought I'd connect them through an ML/MCL converter and run them as powered rear speakers for surround sound. I connected the powerlink in to the back of the TV and entered the setup menu. After accepting the speakers and going through the noise test, all sounded good. I exited the menu and sound wasn't coming out of the rear speakers and the display shows only 3 (fronts and centre) are in operation...

Can anyone tell me where I went wrong?

Thanks in advance,

Jonathan
