You need to do it quickly after rubbing the smear and also press very hard. The duster should also be a new one or a recently washed one otherwise it will just spread the smear rather than buff it out. Get this right and it works wonders and completly protects the screen. Can take a short while to do 40inches woth of screen but worth it!&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The best way IMHO is to use a soft, barely moist cloth and wiping over the smears a few times without to much pressure. Sometimes just &amp;quot;breathing&amp;quot; against the screen and then using a dry cloth is sufficient.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;If this will not help, try a mild window cleaner (no alcohol) and spray just a little bit on the cloth. Do not apply anything on the screen! Always on a cloth or tissue.&lt;/p&gt;
