Hi Peter,

The minimum I can have made is a batch of 10 turntable wall shelves, but if I get requests for 5 shelves in total, then I'm happy to get the whole batch made and keep the price down to the previous level (£39.99 GBP). I will worry about what to do with the other 5 shelves afterwards!

Hi Steve, I would definately have 2 or 3 shelves, how many do you need to produce to get them down to a resonable price do you think ?

Glad you like the shelf, I've got all of my turntables mounted high up on the walls at the moment, as my daughter is now nearly 2 years old and loves playing with Daddy's shiny toys that make music..... [:'(]

Ian supplied the shelf, and I'm very pleased with it. My Beogram 1000 is now floating on the wall - I know it wasn't designed for this model, but it suits it beautifully. A good bit of design, Steve.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the kind words, let's save the directional cables debate for another day!

I'm just in the process of deciding whether to get another batch of the Beogram shelves made up, as I had about 25 eBay watchers when the last one sold recently, but not enough serious enquiries to make the outlay worthwhile. However, if a few BeoWorlders are interested then I would be happy to get some more built and offer a lower price to members of this site.

Also, I sold a shelf to Ian Grace of MoreThanAV and he mentioned recently that he still had it in stock, so it may be worth trying Ian in the first instance.

If it is Steve, then I too would recommend him. Helpful and friendly - though I'll not get into a debate about directional cables!This is the link.

Another site - even more expensive than the shelf I have but very good looking is this one. I could see this being something for more than just turntables.

Someone used to advertise turntable shelves on ebay, which they had "improved" from the B&O design. Now that I need one, they seem to have stopped advertising. Can anyone here remind me who they are? Alternatively, can anyone suggest where I could get a suitable shelf?

My turntable is a BeoGram 1000, and a Target shelf would not fit in the available alcove.

Thank you, Peter. I'll measure up, to see how the "custom" shelf would look (although at that price, I can see the burglar leaving the turntable, but taking the shelf). I did consider using a couple of wooden brackets - Ikea do some nice ones, but I like the idea of the "concealed" feel to the B&O shelf. I understand that the B&O-like shelves that were on ebay had also been modified a little, to provide a front lip, for added security.

Any further ideas remain welcome...

The B&O shelf is simply and L shaped piece of heavy metal and is designed specifically for the Beogram 5000/5005 sized deck. For your 1000, it is sensible to use a wall shelf as it is sensitive to vibration. I have a shelf similar to one of these for my 4000 which offers good isolation without being too intrusive.

However these are all very expensive - a couple of L brackets and a nice piece of wood would seem a lot cheaper and probably better looking!
