&lt;p&gt;Perhaps try asking in the Workbench section. Would be interesting to find a good solution for these tape decks, they are all getting old but I use mine quite often. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Has anyone done any component level repair of the cassette mechanism on the Beocenter 2500?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Mine doesn&amp;#39;t raise the head or go into Play, FF, or Rewind modes. I assumed the belt was worn out, and replaced it, but the problem persists. After fiddling with the solenoids, I can get the unit to raise the head and get Play, Rewind, and Fast Forward to operate when there is no cassette inserted. After inserting the cassette and pressing TAPE, the original problem comes back, even after the cassette is removed.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Are the gears and internal parts to this mechanism available as spare parts? Based on the way the mechanism works, I think this mechanism might be a Japanese design - is there a cross reference part from the original manufacturer available?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I have a similar question about &amp;nbsp;the CD mechanism on the Beosound 4000. What is the original Philips part number?&lt;/p&gt;
