your quite right, beolab pentas offer awesome performance and incredible value for money, this may be a better solution than adding a beolab 2 to your beolab 6000s, but only you will really know hearing the 2 set ups side by side

Had some speaker demos at a dealer yesterday

Hi all - just to let you all know i had a bit of a demo session at the Shrewsbury dealership yesterday with some speakers as looking for a bit more bass than my 6000s offer with my Avant. Opinions as follows:

The Beolab 8000's were average - nothing majorly different to my 6000s in my setup. The 8000s with a Beolab 2 sub sounded lovely but i cant justify the cost of 8000s. The beolab 3's - fantastic little speakers, really punchy and clear and tight, better than the 8000s by a distance. The Beolab 9s sounded lovely, deep, clear and very crisp - but about £4000 so something you'd expect. The 4000s, not impressed, clear but no depth. Adding a beolab 2 sub to my setup is probably the best bet but i could always add a pair of pentas......

In conclusion - i'm gutted i sold a pair of Lab Pentas a while back as they could rival the Beolab 3's in my opinion (better than the new 8000s I listened to) and a good used pair for about £1000 for some Mk3s is awesome value for money - other than that the Beolab 3's are some of the best in the range if your not planning on spending many thousands!!

I'm left thinking either Beolab 2 sub or Mk3 Pentas - keep you all posted
