I do not think it is possible that hdr2 built twin tuner, because it will be necessary for hdtv-c /s to have a digitalcard and one for tv .

for one like me I will have many problems because using DVB-hd /c inside beosystem3 and a parabola using DVB-hd /s.

Hi!

Since for example the BV8-40 has a twin tuner build-in, it feels safe to assume that the HDR2 will be sooner rather than later equipped with a twin (also digital) tuner as well. After that it will be called HDR3. The sale on HDR2 as well as the fact that Beo5 mentions HDR3 support this theory. Besides, they can use the same box?

I do not think that will end with HDR.

Inside beo5 configuration tool in the map image is hdr3.

There is a campain in Denmark at the moment - where B&O shops are selling HDR2 at aprox. half price.

Is this the end of HDR's from B&O?

I can understand why they won´t focus on hard disc recorders, but surely they need Bluray player also for BV9 for instance.

Satelite tuners, hard disc recorders etc can be hidden. A bluray player you have to touch, and I certainly don´t want a Sony (or other) player visible in my living room!

I have a HDR1 and I am very happy with it. HDR2 is a bit better.

If you go for a non B&O device, I really suggest, like Peter that you go for an all-in-one Set top box + HD recorder.

A lot of them are supported by the STB-C or PUC of your TV.

The advantages are big over the direct control through Beo5.

- STB-C works with both Beo4 and Beo5.

- STB-C can control your box from a link room.

- You can use your TV timer.

What would help us helping you, would be to know how you get your TV? Terrestrial? SKY? Cable? Satellite? DVB-T?

Sky+ integrates very well with B&O and offers two tuners and a decent sized HDD. Works fully with a Beo4. Having said that, thanks to Keith, most external devices will work with a Beo5 now.

If you read the latest strategy from B&O, send out a few months ago. B&O will not focus on external video devices, as DVD players and hard-disc recorders.
I’m pretty sure, if you will see a HDR3, then it will be another brand in B&O design.

Depends on what you call "very recent": produced since 2006 (or maybe 2007).

3-party brands may seem more advanced / bigger storage. I don't need the looks of the HDR2; it will be hidden...

HDR2 is very recent, so I do not think there will be a replacement soon.

Because BS5 isn't a "replacement/upgrade" for the current HDR2.

Or should you suggest I hook-up a 3-party recorder to my BV7-40 MK3 (but what about comfort of use; can I control all functions with a beo4/5)?
