I was trying to be helpful without wanting to promote my own products, so I appreciate the recommendation! A growing number of franchises are also stocking my cables, so there is now a better choice available on the high street, as well as online.

Hi chrisped,

You need a stereo 3.5mm mini-jack to connect to the PC and two 7 pin DIN plugs for the Beolab 3's. Don't use a cable with 5 pin DIN plugs fitted, as this won't have the voltage reference pin connected, so it may cause humming noises through the speakers.

Some dealers are selling a combination of three cable adapters to do this job, which can be rather unsightly in some applications. A little bit of searching (eBay, internet, etc) will get you a high quality cable without any need for adapters. If you prefer to buy from a franchised dealer, you may want to ask them if they sell cables other than the stock B&O offerings, as the choice of companies supporting this market is much wider than it was a couple of years ago.

Mini jack to 2 powerlink though you will need to see your dealer to make sure this is available. I use BL3s with my PowerMac and the soundcard is fine. I do use a Beoport though as it allows me to pipe the music to the rest of the house as well. Not very expensive and allows control of iTunes with a Beo4.

I'm not sure of the internal soundcard quality of the Mac - you may want to invest in an external DAC to do the BL3's justice.

What do I need to use my BL3s as PC speakers or iMac speakers? Do I need DAC?
