Quick update: I went to a dealer with a Beoliving setup today, a BV4 Full HD, Samsung SP-A 800B Full HD projector. PS3 with 24p output.

So the BV4 gets a 1080p 24p signal, but the projector a 720p 60Hz signal....not sure if this is in line with B&Os promiss for the best image quality

What a mess!

According to the specs the MK1 version does not support 24p

MK2 specs:

Formats

480i, 480P, 576i, 576P, 720P, 1080i, 1080P (24p pictures per second)

MK1 Specs:

Formats

480i, 480P, 576i, 576P, 720P, 1080i, 1080P

You always can put in a 24p signal but it's depending on the screen if the Beosystem 3 send a 24p output signal.

Hi,

thats definitly wrong. I have a BS3 and 24p is working perfectly from my bluray player to the screen. Though, it works only when the bluray player is set to 1080p for output. otherwise my Sony BDP-S350 outputs no 24p.

If you have the BeoSystem MK1 then it's normal. The MK1 version does not support the 24p format. B&O is working on a MK2 version. As far as i know this one support the 24p format. But i don't now if the MK2 version is already in store's right now.

As always, the devil sits in the detail....my Beosystem 3 drives me nuts...

Even with the current SW 5.02a the image from a Panasonic Blu-Ray Player will not output at 24p to my projector. The player sends a 24p signal to the Beosystem 3 (customer service menu -> signal information -> 24p) but the Beosystem outputs only 1080p 60Hz to the projector. The projector is a JVC HD1 and connected with the player directly shows a brilliant judder free image....but with the BS3 in between not.

Any ideas? (unfortunately the B&O service reps have no idea what I am talking about, they only say use the Samsung projector and it works, but I doubt this)
