The first thing is to realise that you will need a turntable and some form of amplifier as the output from the record player will be at a low and unequalised level. Once attached, it will, as Alex says, use the analogue input of the Beolab 5s. To determine which is better rather depends on you! Some people like the analogue sound of vinyl and some prefer digital. The BeoLab 5s have the advantage of being 'completely digital', and they sound best if the entire system is connected like this (with SPDIF connections etc...).
