I think the 32" BV7 would be ideal, although the DVD is a waste on it for me because this TV would be connected to my Avant DVD. I wish B&O would make a BV6 in a larger size.

Thanks,

David.

Re: Beovision 4.Which size?

in general, you should count 10" of screen per 3 ft of viewing distance. This would even make a 32" screen quite big for your room. I think the 40" BV7 would be a good solution if you absolutely want a big screen. Don't go for a 50" screen, viewing with to little distance will cause headakes and you won't enjoy the picture quality as if the distance was bigger.

Re: Beovision 4.Which size?

sorry, double post. please delete this one

Re: Beovision 4.Which size?

We have a 32"Avant in our main room which is the hub of our B&O equipment. The plasma screen will be for a second lounge for the kids. This room measures 11ft across but the viewing distance is around 10ft not 8ft as previously mentioned.

The TV has to be wall mounted hence a plasma or LCD. We already have a 22" BV6 in the kitchen which would be to small for the kids lounge. We also have BV 1's in the bedrooms but they look to dated now to have downstairs. This only leaves me with the option of a used 42" BV4 or a new 50" BV4 which I think would be way to big.

Do you think the 42" would be ok?

Re: Beovision 4.Which size?

We watch our 32" avant from a distance of about 12 ft (4 metres) and would not consider watching anything above 42" from this distance. I don't think you can enjoy watching a 42" screen from a distance of only 8ft (about 2.5 metres) you would have to move your head from sided to side and up and down the screen to take in the details of the image!. Consider a smaller screen and moving that couch back a touch.

Re: Beovision 4.Which size?

8ft?! Wow you may want to move the couch back a bit if your considering a screen any larger than 32". They are selling a few in the US but would think that ends soon as well when the panels are upgraded to full HD.

That said, I would think 42" is suffficient, personally though I prefer bigger screens for movies. The question I have is which size is best for my room. This would be my first panel TV.

The distance between me when sat on the sofa and the front of the panel would be around the 8ft mark. Would you go for a 42 or a 50 BV4?

Some advice from BV4 owners would be most helpfull.

Cheers.
