For films, the BL2 is fantastic - I think getting one will be far more useful that rear speakers. For music, the BL2 is less impressive.The sound is just not quite right - I prefer switching it off when just listening to music, or more accurately, using another system!

Thanks for the comments folks. The room that the TV is in is not huge so I am just wondering whether the BL8000s would look out of place and whether a BL2 is a bit more 'discreet' (visually at least...). Anyway, great to hear all your thoughts.Thanks again!

I was in the same situation you are in now 2 years ago. Only that I am more a music guy, but I watch a lot of movies on my BV7 too. I went for the BL8000. I found the surround effect much more impressing than the woof effect of a BL2, and I compared them for about a week each. The difference is that I have a BL7-1, that offers a good bass for movies...

Beolab 6000 combined with a sub is a good combination. I have had a set up with two BL 6000's and two 4000's combined with a Rel sub and that worked fine. I now have two 8000's in the front, and it is true, they sound better than the 6000's, mainly due to the extra power reserves. But as it comes to the sound the 6000's produce, it is clear that they belong to the same "family" as the 8000's. A good sub that is finetuned very well, will give the 6000's a boost. I would therefore first go for the extra sub, and add a set of 8000's later.

I concur, but I would rather get the BL8000 for front speakers than get a subwoofer.

Given the options you present I would go for the sub-woofer. I would not have 4 BeoLab 6000s in a surround setup but more powerful fronts instead, for example a pair of BeoLab 8000s which I think would compliment the look quite nicely. I think the BeoLab 6000s are a perfect choice for the back speakers though. Sub is important for movies.

Hi folks.

I have two Beo 6000s connected to my Beovision 3 which is linked to the Ouverture. Would your next step be to add two more 6000s or to add the Beo 2 sub-woofer? Both at the same time is not an option for various reasons (wife included!).

Just not sure about the sub-woofer. I am a movie fanatic though.
