Hi,

What about the Beovox 1 for speakers? Haven't heard them so can't comment on the sound.

I have a passive installed in the roof and a water resistant Jamo speaker which works well. The IR is installed just near the light switch. Rarely use the remote in the bathroom as the system has usually been activated elsewhere in the house.

No , those speakers are from aqsound not aquasound.

Not sure I'm impressed with the made in Taiwn label though, but hey - B&O have Chinese made items so I'm not criticising.

I have a passive with IR set up in my bathroom and it all works excellent, never any issues.

The IR is located near the light switch as you walk in

The Passive unit is located in my loft

The shower and bath are located away from the IR. The Beo4 is very powerful so the IR can receive signal from anywhere in the room. The IR isn’t sealed but as long as it is positioned in a sensible location away from direct exposure to steam/water it should all be fine.

I have one installed in my bathroom, works perfect never had any problems with it.

We have a bad,shower and a steamshower in the room , so plenty of steam in the room

my main query is

does anyone have any experience of an ir sensor in a damp steamy environment with wet fingers, and how long they may last (the ir not my fingers)

I think this reminds me of something Kafka might have thought up - maybe you could put the shower in the living room, and thus solve the problem? (only joking). I agree that passive would be safer, however, from what I know about water and electicity...

yes the beolink passive would be in a different room, just the ir and passive speakers in the bathroom (maybe ceiling mounted water resistant speakers)

My kitchen/diner/sun room is about 12metres by 12 metres L shaped and the Beo4 can control everything from any location so you would need to be in one hell of a bathroom to need or be able to use 2 transducers and 2 remotes effectively. Of course you could fit range reducers to the remotes but it does not make much sense.
2 remotes with one transducer makes more sense. Then you wouldn't need to get out of the bath 'cos there would always be one nearby!
Either way, it's much too decadent.

i think ive confused you

the bathroom is only 14 foot by 9 foot but with a divider wall sectioning off the wet room shower from the bathroom , so id like an ir sensor in there as a remote in the shower is just silly and if possible spur off a second ir sensor the opposite side of the shower dividing glass wall with just one remote used from the bath

hope this makes a little more sense

Hi,

I'm using the passive in the kitchen with two B&W CWM500 speakers, build into the ceiling and controlled by a beolink 1000.

I really love my kitchen radio.

Next setup will be the bathroom, but I am looking more towards the beolab 2000 for this purpose. Or beolab 3500.

hi all,

im finally setting up some passive speakers in the bathroom using a beolink passive and ir eye,

question 1 - im sure i remember reading you can have upto 4 speakers off one beolink passive, is this true ? as the room is partly divided by a glass wall shower and id love 2 in each

question 2 - can you have 2 ir eyes in the same room controlling the same room? as id like one in the open plan walk in shower area and another for by the bath which brings me to my next question

question 3 - how waterproof, if atall is the ir sensor?

question 4 - as it will just be a link room would either a beolink 1000 or beo4 be better

question 5 - (the fun one) what speakers do different beoworlders have/recommend for such an installation
