Lego derives from the Danish "leg godt" or play well. That is something one hopes all B&O does (but is probalaby most appropriate for Beograms)!

However the bricks from Lego vary in size from slim, standard, large to ones for under 3 year olds that are ultra large (Duplo)!

I still quite like my idea of using all or part of a (mint condition!) remote - even after a days reflection.

I looked on google to try and find a Lego danish soldier to no avail, id be very surprised if 'Miniman' hasnt donned this guise in his 30 years of adventures

I did Scrabble pieces once opon a time which give a good indication of size and known throughout the world, i briefly tryed a set produced by Franklin Mint which are gold plated but the reflection from them was a bit of a pain

I like idea of finger.... just point the index finger and I think it will be very clear.

Dear Lee:

The new feature on your site looks great & very useful. How about a paperclip with a ruler of some kind. I think the 'L' shaped ruler would be good.

agree... a nicely manicured pinky -everyone has one (well most people -and well, most are clean). i'd bet that 85-90% are all in a +-3% size difference. just lift your hand up and very easy to guage the size of the damage.

A Euro coin, (it is about as big as a Pound in any sense of the term)... I am guessing most buyers are european?

In my opinion the Beo4 itself (a portion of it) would be the most appropriate.

I suggest using a small ruler, the dimesions are on it for everyone to see. You could get a steel technical ruler from a tool shop and shine it up a bit to look more in keeping. Paint it first then rub off the paint to make the markings more discrete in the photos.

How about some parts from a broken Beo4 controller - say a non functioning LCD screen for elephant sized damage, the central rubber pad with the 4 coloured keys for man sized damage and a standard sized cut out key pad number (eg SAT, 0, TEXT or STOP) for smaller child like damage?

Or maybe a MCP6500 or a Beolink 7000 to make all damage look small?

To tell the truth, I have absolutely no idea what a pound coin should look like. I would also be mostly lost with an inch ruler....

I think the most universal measure in this context would be the top end of a Beolink 1000
