If you mean how to connect the 9500 to the Sony amp, no. But I don't really need to know now, because the 9300 sounds just as great on its own.

But someone else might be interested in this, so it would be great if you could share it with us. Thanks.

I've plugged it directly to the speakers, without the Sony amp. It looks way better on its own there and it sounds just as good. Well, at first I thought the Sony combination sounded a bit richer, crispier ( or something like that ), but I played around with the bass and treble settings a bit and adjusted them like they were on the Sony and I must say it really sounds just as good, if not better.

It can easily play very loud, very clear, so I see no problems at all. That's it basically. I'm very satisfied and If you have any questions I'll be glad to answer them, but right now I'll just sit back and enjoy the music : )

No, I'll try to connect it to the 9300 only and I hope I won't have to use the Sony amp. It will look better and be easier to use. Will tell you it goes.

I didn't get the 9500, because it turned out to be a scam. I have learned my lesson, and bought a 9300 from Lifestyle AV ( very satisfied! ) this time and it just arrived today. I will move it to the house on Friday, when I get the cables for the speakers. If you are still interested, I will let you know how they sound then. And if you have already connected your speakers to the 9500, I would love to hear your experience.

I had a look at the driver configuration Gorissek is using and it's one I've had experience with. The bass should stay fairly well controlled, I was driving the same cones with a 35 wpch Rotel amp and it sounded beautiful up until medium-high volumes, at which point the mids really began to yelp and screech.

Of course, this isn't taking into account the differences between the damping factor from the cabinet design on the actual driver and the resistance caused by venting or sealed enclosures, but it's a pretty basic guide. The amplifier in the 9500 actually seems rather good, although if you really want a bigger pair of speakers to sing well, you need something more meaty like a BeoMaster 6500/7000 or 6000/8000 or even a 4000/4400/5000.

Correct Peter. Makes sense as well. The din socket takes it's signal before the volume and tone controls, out to a graphic equaliser and back in so you can then control the volume from the front panel of the 9500.

I think that is the 5500 - just had a look at the diagrams for the 9500 - I confess to being useless at doing this - and the line in and out is before the power amplifiers and so is not attenuated output. It seems to be, as has been stated, before the tone controls as well.

Graham, am I mis-remembering or was it so that the 9500 merely attenuated the amplifier signal down for the "pre-amp" out -- in contrast to the earlier 9000 which actually gave you the original signal?

Peter is quite correct. The only model with RCA pre amp out sockets is the BC9000. With the 9500 you will have to use the powerlink socket and make up a special lead.

The din socket that Peter says that the 9500 has was designed for a graphic equaliser (in/out) and is not volume controlled.

You will have to make up a lead for the powerlink socket I'm afraid.
