hi i,m a big b&o fan and owner and also a plasterer/dryliner and there will be supports in your plasterboard wall

somewhere, to be exact they cannot be more than 600mm apart it may pay if you have to mount in between

these supports to cut out the plasterboard and fit a plywood patrice to fix to i have done this for freinds in the past

with no probs ....................

Found the picture - looks quite smart. That's also a possible solution, as the furniture my tv stands on is going to be replaced before I embark on swapping all the audio kit. The stuff it's on is very cheap Ikea furniture that was the closest to what I wanted that I could find at the time.

I've attached a (truely awful iPhone) picture of what it looks like at the moment (and yes, I've lived here a year and still haven't got around to putting anything on the walls!). I need to keep a shelf for all the exteraneous stuff I have connected - the PC can be swapped into a thinner case to match a BS3 (that case was bought to match the Denon receiver), and other than that there's a Sky HD box, a PS3 and a Nintendo Wii. The replacement needs to be slightly less wide, as I'm planning on fitting BeoLab 9's either side.

Had the same dilemma , the Bv7-40 was to high with a 7.1/2 speaker under it on my cupboard . I have pictures on the photo section ( page 16 & 17 ) , I made a special pair of stands like B&o use to service these Tv's , I did a sketch of these stands and is with the pictures . I'm an engineer so no problem making them and look great with a Bl 7.4 in an alcove in the cupboard below . If you want any more pictures let me know .

Thanks - those look quite useful! There's also a dado rail in the room which limits my options a bit. Putting it below would be too low, and above would be too high. I'll have a think about what I'll do - it's not going to be for at least 6 months yet!

There's no reason why wall mounting shouldn't be an option on a plasterboard wall. I have a BV7 40 with 7-2 and motorised wall bracket in the Lounge, and a BV4 65/BL10 in the TV room, both on plasterboard studded walls. You'd be amased at the weight plasterboard will take if you use the right fixings - and ideally hit a stud or upright.

When you reply (proper reply, not quick reply), there's a few 'tabs' along the top. Click 'Options' and it gives the 'add attachment' option. I think you just have to browse and hit upload.

I struggled with the same placing issue two years ago. I had no alternative than to wall mount the BL7-1 above my non B&O screen. This was the best compromise and I do not regard that as too high. Maybe I have been used to looks. Soundwise BL4000's are not in the same series as the BL7. Tried that in person. In my current setup I have BL4000's as surrounds and rears.

I will post a picture from my previous setup. It will not do the best justice but gives an idea how the setup could look. That iis an old picture before renovating the room, replacing the F1000 with the big cabinet, hiding the cables and repositioning the screen ad the BL7 in the middle of the wall. The job has taken more than a year and is ALMOST completed now. Especially hiding the huge amount of cables has been a nightmare.

Maybe you could place the BL on two bricks (or similar), lifting it 5-10 cm above the cupboard, allowing the air to pass through the bass reflex ports.

If you would place it flat on the table it would obstruct the two bass speakers facing downwards.

I'm hoping to eventually replace most of my AV kit, and I have a question about the centre speaker. I have a long tv 'bench' that my Panasonic TH-42PH10 stands on. Wall mounting is out of the question, as it appears my flat walls are mainly made of paper (well, plasterboard). It'd never take the weight.

BV7-1/2 seems to be the only option. If the BL7-1/2 was on the stand, it would be too high up and obscure the screen. Is it possible (or adviseable) just to lie it flat on the table? This is how I have placed a Monitor Audio Radius speaker at present - I was going to move it, but I never got round to it. There's a 7-1 for sale on Lifestyle-AV, and the photos seem to indicate there's a bit of flat surface underneath, so it would appear that it could be placed on flat surface without wobbling
